“Hi, I’m Yadira. Pasta Connection is my family’s story, born right here in Costa Mesa, California. Inspired by my father’s passion for food and culture, we blend the rich culinary traditions of Italy and Argentina with a touch of our own SoCal warmth. Working alongside my family, we aim to create meals that bring families together. From hand-rolled pasta to savory empanadas, every dish reflects the care, tradition, and joy of sharing food with loved ones.”

How It Began

The foundations of Pasta Connection began in 1983 with my father, Luis. He dreamed of owning a restaurant that captured his favorite memories of Argentina, where he grew up. Argentina’s rich Italian influence on daily cuisine inspired him to build his restaurant around pasta.

The first step in bringing his vision to life was purchasing commercial pasta-making machines in Argentina and transporting them to the United States. These machines have been at the heart of our business ever since, proudly displayed at the front of our restaurant for customers to see. They symbolize our dedication to authenticity and tradition.

Even after acquiring the machines, Pasta Connection was still far from a reality. During the early days, my parents Luis and Beatriz balanced full schedules, so their free time was spent experimenting with different flour blends, hydration levels, and mixing techniques. Weekends became dedicated pasta-making sessions, where they would produce large batches to test and refine. Each session brought new insights, helping them perfect the dough and textures they envisioned. Since they couldn’t eat it all themselves, they began giving pasta away to friends and family. It became an ongoing joke—was Luis ever going to open a restaurant, or was he just going to keep giving pasta away? His community of close friends from Argentina and family still fondly remember those days.

Luis always takes pride in goods made in his home country, a passion that extends beyond our pasta. Our family still shares three large outdoor grills, imported from Argentina, which we use to cook our steaks at home. One belongs to him, one to me, and one to Lou—whose classic baby portrait was the iconic logo of our business for over 30 years!

At Pasta Connection, we carry forward my father’s passion by serving handmade pasta with the same dedication and love he started with. We invite you to be a part of our story and experience the tradition, warmth, and flavors that have been shaping our family’s journey for decades.
